Home - Tideflex Mixing Systems (TMS) - Engineering Support Open Document - TMS Data Sheet Engineering Support Once the data sheet is received by the Red Valve Engineering Department, there are four important tasks that are completed for every tank and TMS design: 1) selection of the appropriate TMS configuration based on the style, volume and dimensions of the tank, 2) Run Manifold Hydraulics Models thru the range of fill and draw flow rates to optimize the quantity, size, relative stiffness, elevations and discharge angles of the Tideflex Inlet Nozzles and Waterflex Outlet Valves, 3) Run Mixing Analysis Models that provides data on how the tank needs to be fluctuated to ensure complete mixing, 4) Run Jet Rise Height models to determine the trajectory and ultimate height of negatively buoyant inlet jets to ensure they reach the water surface (the jets need to reach the water surface for the Mixing Analysis to be valid). For existing tanks, we review the historical tank turnover data and design the TMS based on how the tank fluctuates. For every tank, the consultant or owner will receive the TMS general arrangement drawing, Manifold Hydraulics summaries, Mixing Analysis and TMS specification. Once the TMS is ordered, Red Valve provides detailed fabrication and installation plans, including interference checks if components will be inserted thru hatches. All supporting calculations and documentation pertaining to the design of the TMS and associated certifications and test reports are provided with the submittals, along with IOM’s. Our Authorized Representatives are all factory-trained and provide inspection and startup services to ensure the proper installation and operation of the TMS. US Patent No. 7,104,279 |
