Chlorine / Chloramine Testing

    Chlorine and chloramine can damage or completely disintegrate some elastomers. Even different compounds of the same elastomer can have drastically different levels of chemical attack.

    Red Valve had our elastomer tested at an independent laboratory in accordance with ASTM D6284 which is an accelerated test for chlorine and chloramine exposure at 100 ppb and 150 deg.C. From the test report, “there was no degradation and there were no visible changes in the samples.”
